ABOUT THE ARTIST
A few fast facts: 42 years old, female, artist, writer, computer geek, dreamer. I am only about five feet tall. Sunlight is evil. Blood type A+. I remember my dreams in disturbing detail.

Some people spend their entire lives looking for something that they have a true talent at. There are many who never bother. For those that manage to both seek and find, they have a tremendous number of specialties to choose from. For some, it's music. For others, it's sports. Mathematics, chess, languages, architecture, acting, writing, vulgar phone calls... For me, it is art in a myriad of forms. There have been very few types of media which I have attempted that I have disliked or been completely unable to work with. (Watercolors! my nemesis!)

Since you've come to this page, I thought you might like to know a little about myself and my artwork. I've literally been an artist since before I can remember. I was drawing since I had the ability to pick up a crayon and before I was able to walk. Thankfully, I never grew out of it.ghostfire All through high school, most of my artwork was produced during class hours as I sat, half listening to the teachers. It's unfortunate that because of this, some of my best work from that period ended up on lined notebook paper, which made it almost impossible to scan in decently. Also bad, due to the incredible volume of stuff I used to create, most of it ended in the trash pile.

On May 20, 2000, I graduated as Valedictorian of my high school class. Several months prior to this, I had finally decided at least where I would be going in order to continue my education. I spent my first year and a half at the Minneapolis College of Art and design. At first, I listed my major as undecided, but at the end of the first year I chose Illustration. Early in the second semester of my second year, however, something beyond my control sort of changed the course of my life. After a severely botched attempted at giving blood at a drive at the college, I found my drawing arm to be practically useless for the better (or would that be worse?) part of a month. They'd screwed up to the point where the nerves leading into my hand were being interfered with, and so the only thing I could do was wait for the damage to heal. In the meantime, I fell hopelessly behind in my classes, and finally stopped going.

My life has had many ups and downs since leaving college, but I've learned to live with that. I am currently working as a freelance illustrator and website designer, and in my free time I like to read, watch movies and anime, and attend conventions. Some day I plan to cosplay, but that's an entirely different story.

On a last note, I'd like to give my high school art teacher a lot of thanks. Over the years, he gave me a lot of help. He didn't always know what to tell me, or how to teach me, but I don't know where I would be without him.
