A full explanation of this... thing, would take ages. The two characters involved are Sephiroth of Squaresoft's Final Fantasy VII and Riku of Square/Disney's Kingdom Hearts. Both of these are Playstation (2) games, and to even touch on their storylines would take up pages. To find out about either, I recommend searching for fan sites. In my little world, Sephiroth is Riku's father. This comic was based on a fanfic written by a friend of mine called "Behind Blue Eyes" This particular scene is far into things - the setting haven been taken from the secret Kingdom Hearts 2 trailer at the end of Kingdom Hearts 1. Sephiroth finds himself suddenly thrust into a world that seems at once eerily familiar and utterly alien, only to find himself face to face with a son that he has not seen since he was just a year old. Riku, though he and his mother fled the Planet before he was old enough to know what had happened, held on always to memories and a single picture of his father. The shock of recognition goes through them both, but though Sephiroth momentarily forgets the weight of all that's happened in his amazement at finding his son, Riku can't help but feel a pang of fear. Will his father, who he has searched for his entire life, accept him now?

Call me an utter monster for putting these both on the same page, but they needed to be together. Due to injuries to my hands, I've barely drawn for a month and a half, so I'm both proud and glad that I was able to do this. In part, I guess I consider this a thank you to Squaresoft for making games that occupy my thoughts and frazzle my mind, while making me yearn for more.
